This policy explains what information Channel Islands Business Solutions (“CIBS,” “we,” or “us”) collects through channelislandsbusiness.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. CIBS is a Southern California-based business consulting and operational support company. This policy describes how this website works. It is not a legal opinion or a certification of compliance with any law.

Information you give us

The website has two ways to contact us: the Contact form and the Build Your Support Plan inquiry on the Services page. When you use either one, you choose what to send. That may include your name, email address, optional phone number, optional business or company name and industry, a description of your needs, any selections you make in the Support Plan inquiry (such as business partnership, support areas, or Support Block interest), and anything else you write. Each form asks you to confirm that you consent to our using what you send to respond to you.

Please do not include Social Security numbers, bank or card numbers, passwords, or other highly sensitive information in a website form. No payment or account is needed to send an inquiry.

How form submissions are handled

Both forms use the same website feature. When you press send, the website emails your submission to CIBS at contact@channelislandsbusiness.com, with your email address set as the reply address so we can respond to you. Our review of the website’s form code found that it sends this email and does not save a copy of your submission in the website’s database. It is not connected to a mailing list. The Hostinger Reach plugin is installed on the website but is not connected to a Reach account, so form submissions are not sent to Reach. A copy of your message exists in the CIBS inbox and in the email systems that deliver and store that mail, including the sending service used by the website’s hosting and the service that hosts the receiving mailbox.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, this website and its hosting platform may automatically process technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and the pages requested, for example in server logs, to deliver the site and keep it secure. We have not installed an analytics, advertising, or live chat service on this website.

When a page loads, your browser also requests the following from other companies, which therefore receive your IP address and browser information: fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com), and a script from Hostinger’s Reach service (cdn-reach.hostinger.com). The Reach script is part of the website’s email-marketing plugin. This website does not currently offer a newsletter or Reach signup form, and in our review the script is used only to display and measure such forms; it does not set cookies. The website runs on WordPress with the Elementor page builder and a caching plugin that stores copies of pages to load them faster.

Cookies

We have not installed any cookie-based analytics or advertising tool. The website and its hosting platform may use cookies or similar technologies that are needed for the site to work and stay secure. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

How we use your information

We use what you send to respond to your inquiry, to clarify your needs and discuss scope, to keep a record of inquiries and our communications, and to operate, maintain, and secure the website. Sending a form does not create a contract, a purchase, or a guaranteed booking. We may disclose information if the law requires it, and service providers such as our website host and email providers process information on our behalf to operate the website and deliver messages.

How long we keep information

Inquiries stay in the CIBS inbox, like other business correspondence, until CIBS deletes them. To ask about deletion of your message, contact us at the address below. We will respond as applicable law requires.

Your choices

You can contact us to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. California residents may have additional rights under California law, and we will respond to requests as applicable law requires.

Children

This website is intended for business use and is not directed to children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when it was last changed.
